10 Stunning Mods of 2 Genesis Themes (Lifestyle & Enterprise) for WordPress

One of the most powerful aspects of the Genesis Framework for WordPress is the extensibility of its design.

While the “out of the box” design of our child themes offer a very pleasing experience, the opportunities to modify — or completely recreate them — are limitless.

We are very proud of the community of designers and developers that work with our products every day — our Showcase is a testament to their talent. Browse the 500+ completely custom designs there anytime, for inspiration and ideas.

But, for someone who may not have the ability or resources to have a custom site designed and developed, there are many options available, including using one of our turn-key child themes.

As an example, below you’ll see the very best sites we’ve found that were built from the Lifestyle and Enterprise child themes. I think you’ll quickly realize that both of these very popular child themes lend themselves to a tremendous outflow of creativity and customization …

  1. Incredible is all that I can say!

  2. Great designs and mods indeed! Definitely one of those posts I’ll be referencing to potential clients who have trouble understanding that a Genesis theme can be molded into anything your heart desires. ;)

  3. Hi Josh
Fabulous examples you’ve presented here and an inspiration to us all.

Not used Lifestyle, but Enterprise is very popular for business websites as opposed to blogs.

One of the good things about Genesis themes looking good out of the box is that it allows you to produce a good looking website, whilst keeping down costs.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

  4. Yep, these ten mods look great. My personal favorite from the list is Feeding the Orphans by Brad Senter. He does some great work.

  5. Not sure what template this site is using but it’s awesome

  6. Great list Josh! I was surprised and thrilled to see one of my customizations on here {Naturally Modern Portraiture}. I will be referring back to this list. They are lovely.

  7. Wow, what an embarrassment of riches! They are all so beautiful and unique! It’s amazing to know these designs started at the ‘same’ place. Thanks for sharing these.

  8. These are really great looking sites, thanks for highlighting these examples from the StudioPress community.

Question though: how did you determine that these were from the Lifestyle and Enterprise themes? What were the features that carried over from those 2 specific themes to the examples above? I’m asking because I’m now considering these 2 as starting bases for my upcoming projects. Thanks

  9. Looks great. Another proof that almost anything can be done with Genesis.

  10. Love Lifestyle! Found it easy to adjust and still looks good. You all do great work!

  11. These are great. I’m always so amazed at how “out of the box” a designer can get with these themes. Awesome stuff. Kudos to each!

  12. Some mods are exceptionally great. thanks for sharing this..

  13. Love it! I’ve been tinkering with Genesis now for a bit and I plan on using it for a customer coming up very soon. My question is this:

Do you make a child theme against the child theme or do you alter the child theme as needed? I’ve been trying to figure out how best to approach it. I don’t even know if that works but I don’t want to have to fight with things down the road when it comes to updates and what not.

  14. I love these featured sites! I can see that the possibilities with Genesis are seemingly limitless.

I have just purchased the Pro Plus Theme Package and I cannot wait to get busy creating sites!
