I am a hopeless Starbucks addict, freelance web designer/internet consultant living in Chicago. I write poetry and also love to ski. In February 2009, I started a company called StudioPress, which develops professionally designed WordPress themes for business and individuals. You might find this hard to believe, but 3 years ago I didn’t own my domain name and had never touched a piece of WordPress code. Everything I’ve done since then has been self-taught.

I am a wife, mom, teacher, graphic designer, photographer, writer, speaker and geek living near Des Moines, Iowa. I love my wild family, my Nikon, Italian espresso and I’m a total closet show-tunes geek. In early 2007, I started a little design hobby which has grown into a graphic design studio with custom-designed blogs on 5 continents and in several languages. I’m a Creative Professional living and working in Columbia, South Carolina. I love to create and it doesn’t matter what with: paper, paint, wood, food, film or power tools… but most of the time it is with a computer. I specialize in Print and Web Design, WordPress Development and Video Production – but I majored in Photography. Go Figure. I started my company, Northbound Design, in 2003, which I run with my husband and two kitty coworkers.
