I checked the theme settings to ensure that the featured image was disabled, and it was.

Also, the feature images in the columns are looking funky too.  I just migrated this site over from another theme (suffusion) so I am guessing it has to do with the size of the images.

I did look at the theme instructions, however, the Generate instructions are not nearly as comprehensive as some of the others.

I have the site on Maintenance Mode, but will remove until midnight PST.

Any assistance would be so welcome.  Thanks!

I’m not sure the steps that StudioPress support already took you through so it’s possible that what I’m suggesting is redundant, but this is what I’d do for next steps:

1. FTP into your server and delete the two directories that were created when you first tried installing – these should be something like:
/wp-content/themes/genesis/
and
wp-content/themes/executive/

2. Remove Weebly entirely. I don’t know anything about Weebly so I’m afraid I can’t advise you on this part at all. If you were running Weebly before you tried the Genesis install then it’s possible that’s where the issue came from.

3. Go back through the install instructions to first install the Genesis theme (and only the Genesis theme) and see if that part works. I can’t tell from your message if you were able to get that bit going and then the child theme is where it gave you problems, or what. The instructions for installing, including a video how-to, are in your My StudioPress -> Downloads screen.

Write back again when you’ve gotten that far and let us know where things stand.

- Either the latter option you asked about, where you have one sign-up and put people on both lists, and just be clear about it and tell them they can unsubscribe from either/both at any time. However, I know nothing about the spam laws so I don’t know if it’s a no-no to do this.

OR

- Have 2 signups but style each of them so differently that they look like very different things. They’re essentially different “products” so treating them as such visually should communicate that to your audience. If the subscription one is an RSS feed then just call it that and use a plain “enter email here” type input. Make the monthly newsletter fancier and place it more prominently on the site, maybe put it inside a colored box, and include a more direct call-to-action message on it. Or vice versa, depending on which signups are more valuable in your business model (my gut reaction is that the monthly newsletter would be the more important one but I don’t know why I thought that).
