You can use a function to get the name of the category, then add it to the top of the content area. I've used this code before when doing it. It will add a heading 1 before the content area and it will be styled like the entry headings. The code in that Gist would go into your theme's functions.php file. If that file ends with a question mark and a greater-than symbol ( &> ), make sure the code in placed before them.
