I am running the Lifestyle Child Theme on my blog and am having difficulties adding media into posts or pages. It will allow me to click the button, select the media I want to upload into the post/page, but then it doesn't "go" anywhere.I read a former person's same question and she was told to deactivate all her plugins...I tried that and it's still not working. Any ideas on what else I could try?
I don't mind continuing to upload my pics into my file manager but would be a whole lot easier if I didn't have to do all those extra steps.
Thanks!
December 28, 2012 at 9:03 pm #8072AnitaKeymasterWhat browser are you using and have you tried another browser to see if the Media Uploader works?

December 28, 2012 at 9:19 pm #8075OzzyMemberit could be a browser issues, but it could also be a different problem.
try going into your wp-config.php file and find the line
define( 'CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false );
it could have a couple of slashes in front of it, if so, try removing them. if you can't find it in the file, add it to the file.
December 29, 2012 at 11:56 am #8182skichic95MemberIt's not a browser issue. I normally use Firefox, but I just tried it in Safari and same thing, it won't add a photo into the post/page.
Also, the "Visual" button doesn't work, so all I have is the text feature and have to write everything in html, which isn't a problem, but sometimes I'd like a chance to see what it looks like. The button turns red when you try and click on it.
I looked for the wp-config.php file but can't find it underneath the Editor button. Is it somewhere else?
December 29, 2012 at 12:18 pm #8185AnitaKeymasterYou need to access the WP-Config file using an FTP program or log into your hosting accounts File Manager.

December 29, 2012 at 12:38 pm #8187skichic95MemberOkay, I located the file. I didn't find that particular 'phrase' so I added it to it and reuploaded (replaced old file) it to my file manager in the right place. And still nothing. I'm still having the same problem.
December 29, 2012 at 12:48 pm #8188AnitaKeymasterYou know what... drag that Snapwidget off to the Inactive Widget area and see what happens.

December 29, 2012 at 12:52 pm #8191RiavonMemberDo you have the latest installs of WordPress and Genesis and Lifestyle installed? And are all updates updated for everything? (Click on "Updates" at the top of your Dashboard left menu)
You may also want to see if you have a plugin conflict that could be causing this problem. Deactivate all plugins and try to add media again, see if the issue is resolved. If so, then it may be a plugin conflict. You can then reactivate you plugins one by one, trying to do the media placement each time, until it doesn't work, then you'll know which plugin is causing the issue.
Just a couple of ideas I'm throwing out there to try. I hope it helps!

December 29, 2012 at 6:05 pm #8243skichic95Member@anitac: The snapwidget is running as html via a text widget and after removing it, nothing changed. Still cannot insert media and the Visual button does not work (as it is working in this box).
@riavon: I do have the latest WordPress, Genesis and Child Theme installed and activated. I've already deactivated all plugins and nothing changed.December 29, 2012 at 6:09 pm #8245AnitaKeymasterOk, let's do this. Let me see your screen. Go to http://join.me > click Basic and the Orange button. It will load a little code on your computer which will place a badge at the top of your screen with 9 numbers. Email those 9 numbers to. I can then see your screen to check out what's happening.

December 29, 2012 at 6:10 pm #8246RiavonMemberTry looking at your user profile to see if the option "Disable the visual editor when writing" is ticked.
