    HI there

    Can anyone give me some advice on how I can add a paragraph of text just before the list of portfolio items. If you take a look at the demo link:

    I would like a paragraph of text to be between the heading “Portfolio Page” and where the porfolio items display.

    If I add info in the WordPress editor, it doesn’t get displayed on the page.

    Any suggestions?

    Change the hook to change the position of the text

    You could also use this code to make a widget for this text.

    Note: The code uses the old XHTML hooks.

    Hey Brad… I’m trying to do the same thing…. where exactly do I put this code??? thanks, Carolyn

    No need anymore because Genesis 2.0 includes support for CPT archive title and description.

    Simply change the CPT so its like this:

    /** Create portfolio custom post type */
    add_action( ‘init’, ‘custom_portfolio_post_type’ );
    function custom_portfolio_post_type() {
    	register_post_type( ‘portfolio’,
    			‘labels’ => array(
    				‘name’ => __( ‘Portfolio’, ‘custom’ ),
    				‘singular_name’ => __( ‘Portfolio’, ‘custom’ ),
    			‘exclude_from_search’ => true,
    			‘has_archive’ => true,
    			‘hierarchical’ => true,
    			‘menu_icon’ => get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . ‘/images/icons/portfolio.png’,
    			‘public’ => true,
    			‘show_ui’ => true,
                            ‘show_in_menu’ => true,
    			‘rewrite’ => array( ‘slug’ => ‘portfolio’ ),
    			‘supports’ => array( ‘title’, ‘editor’, ‘author’, ‘thumbnail’, ‘excerpt’, ‘trackbacks’, ‘custom-fields’, ‘comments’, ‘revisions’, ‘page-attributes’, ‘genesis-seo’, ‘genesis-cpt-archives-settings’ ),

    You can see that these have been added:

    ‘show_ui’ => true,
    ‘show_in_menu’ => true,

    Sorry thats incorrect as the Balance theme doesn’t include a CPT so please add this code at the end of your child themes functions.php file.

    The changes relate to themes using a CPT.
