On the demo it shows a description on top of the images on the portfolio page, I wanted to see if I can add a shortcode instead of the description. I read the document/tutorial provided but in the tutorial it shows "Archive Settings" which I dont have on the backend of my site. If its possible please let me know how to go about it. Thanks

I don't have Executive, but I can take a pretty good guess at it. These, I believe, are Custom Post Types. That just means that along with Post and Pages, you'll probably have a menu item for Portfolio items. If so, you'll be able to enter Portfolio items just like you do Posts, and you could put shortcodes into the content area of a Portfolio item. The only common restriction is that in most places in WordPress, you won't be able to add shortcodes into the Title of the item. Shortcodes tend to go in content, and sometimes in sidebar widgets. You can give that a try. If I'm wrong, official support (submitting a ticket) should get you some help with that, I think.

I also submitted a ticket and I didnt get much help, they just point me to the code snippets which dont answer my specific question at all or my other option was to come here to the forums and see if anyone could help.
Heres a screenshot of what Im trying to accomplishSeptember 29, 2013 at 1:50 pm #64688David ChuParticipantAh, that's way different from what I was describing. One last idea, and then I'm done.
Go to Users.... Your Profile. Look down and find Author Archive Settings. Try filling in Headline or Description text. See if either of those go into the Portfolio. (again, I don't have that theme). If you don't see Author Archive Settings, you may not have a User account that has full admin permissions.
I have no idea if a shortcode would work in either field. I would guess that it won't. Keep in mind that by asking for a shortcode in that spot, there's a very good chance that hands-on developer customization is needed. This sort of voids your free support warranty, so to speak.
Good luck,
Dave

September 29, 2013 at 2:11 pm #64691cangri787MemberThanks for the help David but that didnt work either, it didnt show anything. What about just adding some description instead of the shortcode?
September 29, 2013 at 2:46 pm #64698David ChuParticipantI'd say just try putting something in there. If nothing appears, then yes, either the directions were not right, or were misunderstood, or the documentation is just plain wrong. You'd probably need to hire someone, or hope that you get someone here who has hacked Executive a bit, that wouldn't be me, sorry.
