Hi folks… using the Education theme and running into a problem adding a you tube video to the page.

    I insert the code: <iframe width=”640″ height=”360″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/-s6xhj6ysxU?rel=0″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

… whether in Visual or text mode and I keep getting this response and I have no idea why?

I have had no problem adding a host of videos to my sites on Word Press before. Any thoughts?

Hi Bill, try grabbing the code again. I tried your code and it doesn’t seem to work. Grab the embed code from Youtube again and use the Text tab to paste it. The new embed is working fine for me.

    Hi Anita…

Nope, opened my YouTube account, opened the video, selected the embed code as follows:

    <iframe width=”640″ height=”360″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/-s6xhj6ysxU?rel=0″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

and pasted into the page using the text view.

    Same error message:

I remove the embed code and the page updates just fine.

I have no idea why this is happening, and it happens before I updated Genesis, so it isn’t the update that is causing this.

    Help!

    Bill

    Great. Thanks so much.

We didn’t used to have to insert video this way, so something changed, and I wonder if other folks are having the same problem? If so, you’ve provided the answer.

    Cheers,

    Bill

Bill, did you upgrade to WP 3.5 yet?

Anita, thanks, yes I did, and now I wonder if it’s that upgrade that created the problem?

Regardless, Nick has resolved the issue with this information: http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds

and now my video appears on the page here: http://orlando-florida-attractions.com/amway-center/

    Cheers,

    Bill
