Dear members,
are there any other tutorials available here? I can´t do anthing with what I have found until now. Everything is very global and not really described in detail so I am completelyx lost for the moment. Thanks lot.
March 13, 2013 at 1:01 pm #25905dabyromMemberHi Frank,
There are lots of tutorials for Genesis posted on various blogs. Many of them have helped me a great deal. Google around and you might stumble on a solution. Not exactly ideal but it's helped me out a lot. By the way, I completely understand your frustration with Genesis help, as do many others.
Any issues you are currently seeking a solution for? Post it on the forum and usually someone will try to help.
March 14, 2013 at 3:57 am #26149FrankMemberHi dabyrom, thanks a lot for your reply. As a consultant I will strongly avise my customers NOT to use themes from studio press. I do not like companies which are strong in telling stories about how professionel they are in the pre-sales phase and finally have no power behind in the after-sales phase.
To be honest, the tutorials are a mess. I personally will recommend in Germany social media paltforms, not to take a decision for studiopress.
Everything looks and sounds very good, but finally is really unprofessionell.
But I thank you very much for your input.
Have a nice week!!

March 14, 2013 at 5:52 am #26152SusanModeratorFrank - what are you looking to do - a question like "are there any more tutorials" is pretty vague. If you need technical assistance with set-up of a theme, you can submit a ticket here:
March 14, 2013 at 6:33 am #26155AnitaKeymaster@Frank as Susan stated, you've just issued a blanket request not pointing to anything specific, i.e., how to set up my theme, how to use the Genesis Framework, etc., etc. If you are a website developer you should have some reasonable knowledge on how to use a theme and you should have some reasonable knowledge of how to edit and modify your CSS to change colors, etc., etc. If you are a "noobie" who decided to "do websites" because you can sucker your clients into purchasing something from you because they don't know any better, then you are barking up the wrong tree. Making a "threat" that you won't advise your customers to purchase from Studiopress means absolutely nothing and... it makes anyone on this forum unlikely to want to assist you further. Studiopress developed a product and it is up to you to customize the theme to YOUR liking. There are thousands of people who use WordPress, Themes, and a ton of other frameworks, etc. There is *no way* they can anticipate what *you* want to modify. There is no way to document that.
With that said, don't buy something you cannot work with and don't advise your clients. It won't impact anything on here or SP.
Now.. if you want to play nicely... this is a volunteer forum where when one needs assistance with customizing their theme - we all try to pitch in to help - for FREE.
Love coffee, chocolate and my Bella!
March 14, 2013 at 7:04 am #26157FrankMemberSusan, thanks a lot for your answer. I will not spend much time on never ending discussions.
First impression of SP and the products is great. Documentation not. I can´t follow the appraoch not to spend a bit more and invest in real professionell documentation for BEGINNERS as I am. But I will give it a try with your support team. Finally it is up to me to continue with the theme or to waste 80 $.
anitac, also thanks to you as best example for stories with no real impact.
March 14, 2013 at 10:22 pm #26992SusanModeratorFrank - StudioPress offer a 30 day money back guarantee (no questions asked), so if it's not working for you or your customers, that's an option.
March 15, 2013 at 4:36 am #27056FrankMemberSusan, I do really don´t care about the money. I am a "one man show" as consultant for controlling, strategy and teaching communication on a privat university. I have investigated a lot in the web about what theme provider would be the best for me and finally took the decision to use themes form SP cause SP has a real good name. But I am not a web designer. So I have to handle it by myown or I have to pay for a web designer. But for the moment I will not give up :-))). Thats not my way of working in critical situations. But I would have been very lucky if I would have found better documentations. Would have been the cream on the cake. That´all.
So I will continue and hopefullycome to rersults I am looking for.
Have a nice weekend and thanks for your offer.
March 15, 2013 at 4:39 am #27057SusanModeratorFrank - let me know if you need any assistance - I'm not a designer or developer by occupation - just a volunteer moderator who is hooked on this product. 🙂
