Hi, I'm a simpleton attempting to adjust the width of the sidebars and possibly the content on http://Sweepingtheusa.org. In as simple of a way as possible, could I please get some help adjusting those to at least 300 pixels wide for the sidebars?
And i'm still trying to add the tabs at the top of the site like on this site: http://thismanlydad.com/. Thank you for any help.August 1, 2013 at 6:16 am #53530AnitaKeymasterTo increase the sidebars, that will mean you will need to decrease the content area. If you decrease the content area keep in mind that it will be much narrower and it may look squished. You may want to consider widening the entire wrap by changing #wrap from 960px to say 980px or even 1140px. As a suggestion, looking at your content, if it were me, I would use the Quattro theme and customize it. It already has one sidebar that is 305px wide, easier to modify the other sidebar to 305px and it's also responsive.

August 1, 2013 at 9:47 am #53558rydray1MemberAnitac, I installed the Quattro theme per your suggestion. If you take a look at the site now it looks a little better, but there's still some overlapping going on in the left sidebar. How to go about adjusting the width to keep that from occurring?
And what about the tabs? I can't get them to show up at all. I'm going bald pulling my hair out in frustration.August 1, 2013 at 10:45 am #53573AnitaKeymasterI just got back online. Give me a few minutes to take a look. I'll be right back.

August 1, 2013 at 10:47 am #53575rydray1MemberI figured out the menu tabs issue. So just the width issue now.
August 1, 2013 at 10:55 am #53579AnitaKeymasterSo look for this. I changed the width for this.
.sidebar-content-sidebar #content-sidebar-wrap { float: left; width: 765px; }
Then look for this and change your number to what I have. I changed the padding and the width.
#content { float: left; padding: 5px 10px 0; width: 464px; }
Then look for this and change your number to what I have. I changed the width.
.sidebar { display: inline; float: right; font-size: 14px; width: 305px; }
It looks good, but the grid below with the two posts side by side - they are too close together. There's not too much we can do except maybe eliminate that part of the grid.

August 1, 2013 at 11:26 am #53584rydray1MemberAfter making those changes the primary sidebar is now aligned vertically on the bottom-right of the site. What adjustment needs to be made to get that back where it belongs? And the secondary sidebar is still not wide enough.
August 1, 2013 at 11:32 am #53586AnitaKeymasterLook for this and change your number to my number:
.sidebar-content-sidebar #content { width: 404px; }

August 1, 2013 at 11:34 am #53587AnitaKeymasterI think you are changing numbers around while I am looking at it so what I just posted may not work. You should let me provide you with the right code first.

August 1, 2013 at 11:38 am #53588AnitaKeymasterI see you are changing it all from what I provided along with the additional code I gave you. I'll unsubscribe from here since you no longer need my assistance.
