I recently moved one WordPress installation from the root to a subdirectory; and then created a new WP install in the root. Before creating new pages, I installed the Velvet Blues plugin and redirected all relevant internal links from the root to the directory. All set internally.
The problems are external links that still point to the root page. This is causing 404 errors.
I installed the Redirection plugin and am slowly changing target URLs; but I wonder if I should create a regular expression that automatically moves all 404 errors to a landing page and encouraging the person to search my blog?
Or, is there a way to use conditional logic whereby every time a 404 equals domain.com/blah to redirect it to domain.com/blog/blah.
Thoughts on either?
