I'm using the Agentpress Listings Plugin with Executive and have run into a couple problems:
1. When I edit the functions.php files to change the listing field labels nothing happens. I followed the instructions from the theme instructions exactly. Any idea/tips?
2. Where is the 'Listings' page defined? I want to change the url of the page that shows all of the listings. I also need to change some of the css in the full-width template and nothing I do in my main style.css file seems to effect this page/template.
Here is a link to the temporary site:

December 20, 2012 at 4:20 pm #6518sarahannMemberUpdate on question 1: I found that in order to change the listing field labels I have to change the functions.php files in the PLUGIN. I definitely would like to avoid this, any way around this?
Thanks!
December 20, 2012 at 4:30 pm #6524AnitaKeymasterDo you have a page under Pages called Listings? If so, change the name there.

December 20, 2012 at 4:47 pm #6530sarahannMemberUpdate on Question 1: My programmer had to add agentpress_property_details_filter() function to my theme functions.php which allows me to change the theme functions rather than the file in the plugin.
anitac, yes, there is a page there called listings but if I change the permalink then it no longer pulls in the listings.
January 25, 2013 at 6:15 am #14565darcaraMemberI need to do away with the Square Feet field and change it to Area Schools, but I don't see any of that code in the functions.php file. I don't understand where I need to look... was that code already in your functions file? I do not want to add anything, I just thought I could do little harm if I simply overwrote Square Feet to Area Schools... thanks for any help guiding me to the right spot.
January 25, 2013 at 7:16 am #14569AnitaKeymasterYou should be able to create a new one. Go to Listings > Register Taxonomies - and add the Area Schools there.

January 25, 2013 at 7:25 am #14570darcaraMemberWhat I want to change is the field label on Property Details... you can do that under Register Taxonomies? I'm brand new to this version of Agentpress... I thought I had to do that in the code. I just want to relabel 2 of the preset fields... Square Feet to Area Schools and Basement to Other. I know I can add area school info in other ways, but I mainly want to get ride of the Square Feet block... we don't provide Square Feet unless asked because a mistake can open you up to issues... the convention around here now is to leave it off until asked. If I can just delete that field that would be ok too-- I don't want to have it obviously left blank. but just not filling it in. Thanks for your help 🙂
January 25, 2013 at 7:28 am #14571AnitaKeymasterWell, if you leave it off - or rename it, what will you do when you need it? The better way is to create new fields for the new ones and then exclude the two fields you don't want to show until asked. If you change the current fields - you will only have problems down the road. Let's say today you add in 10 new schools to that field - and then you get two clients who specifically want Square Feet. Now you'll have schools and square footage in the same fields and it won't work right.

January 25, 2013 at 7:29 am #14573AnitaKeymasterBy the way, you should start a new thread on this because it has nothing to do with the originators problem.

January 25, 2013 at 8:17 am #14585darcaraMemberOk, I am obviously confused... I thought the original question was about changing the listing field labels that came preset with AgentPress Listings (what I thought was Price, Address, City, State, Zip, MLS#, Square Feet, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Basement) I will go back and go through it all again and try to get a better handle on it and come back when I know more. Thanks!
January 25, 2013 at 10:53 am #14626sarahannMemberdarcara... The code that defines the fields that you have probably seen in the tutorials is now in one of the plugin files. As it is not ideal to change those files I had my programmer put agentpress_property_details_filter() in my functions so that I could do all I needed to in the child theme. I can't really give you a how-to since I didn't do it myself.
January 25, 2013 at 11:01 am #14630darcaraMemberThank you Sarahann! I think I will just live with it like it is then. I'm not comfortable adding that code to the functions file. Thanks!!
