Hi, I’m using the Metro theme for a site. I want to use an animated gif for the header and it imports just fine when using the header upload — but it won’t “play” on the site. What do I need to do to get the animated gif to play in the header in all browsers?

    Thanks,

If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space.

    Hi,
I would not do that myself, but I believe that you can use an animated gif for a CSS background, which is how the Genesis header upload treats it.

BUT… if your image is different sized from the alloted space (which is defined in your functions.php file, and will be labelled in your Header setting page), I would bet that the resizing during upload would simply kill the animation. Not being able to see your site or see what you did, that’s my best guess.

    Best,
    Dave
