    I’m wondering how I can show the modified date for my blog posts in a Genesis theme. I currently am messing around with both Minimum and Metro themes, and this should apply to both.

    In a typical WP theme, I can simply drop in the following code which will pull the last date updated

    <?php the_modified_date(); ?>

    However, this does nothing to the Genesis Functions.php file, except break it.

    Anybody know how I can pull this info in a (any) Genesis theme?

    You want to use hooks here. Maybe something like this if you’re using HTML5 (not tested)?
    remove_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_post_info', 12 );
    add_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'new_info' );
    function new_info() {
    the_modified_date();
    }

    If you’re not HTML5, do ‘genesis_before_post_content’ instead of ‘genesis_entry_header’ … again, not sure if this would work but hopefully it’s a start.

    One tool you might like to try is this Genesis custom PHP builder from Cobalt Apps. If I don’t know where to start, I’m usually able to get some ideas there. HTH

    I do the best I can with what I’ve got. (say hey on twitter)
