Hi,
My site - http://www.fit-mole.com/
I am trying to find a way to be able to edit the homepage so that all the posts are displayed like the first post (the Henry Cavil post)
I don't want to 2 column teasers.
I've tried everything and all the available plugins including the genesis loop plugin but nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions?

Huh? But I need to display my latest posts? I don't want a static page.
July 6, 2013 at 7:53 pm #49583devParticipantWith Genesis... IF... you have nothing in any of the HOME widget areas it will default your homepage to your latest posts.
Empty all the HOME widget areas and you will get the homepage you are seeking.
Sorry if I confused you... because you can also set "Static Page" to any page you set up as a blog format and it will also work the same as above.
Does that make any sense? Even if not, try it anyway and I think you will get the results you are seeking... assuming all your content is in posts.
August 15, 2013 at 2:02 pm #56645fatgMemberHi, I am trying to accomplish the same look on my balance theme site http://www.EnterpriseSalesOperations.com.
Only featured posts - the teasers after home page 1 look terrible in balance.
I've tried the grid loop plugin (no effect) and really do not understand the advice above from dev.thanks much.

remove_action( 'genesis_loop', 'genesis_do_loop' ); add_action( 'genesis_loop', 'child_grid_loop_helper' ); /** Add support for Genesis Grid Loop **/ function child_grid_loop_helper() { if ( function_exists( 'genesis_grid_loop' ) ) { genesis_grid_loop( array( 'features' => 5, 'feature_image_size' => 'feature', 'feature_image_class' => 'align none post-image', 'feature_content_limit' => 200, 'grid_image_size' => 'grid', 'grid_image_class' => 'align none post-image', 'grid_content_limit' => 0, 'more' => __( 'Continue reading...', 'genesis' ), 'posts_per_page' => 5, ) ); } else { genesis_standard_loop(); } } genesis();
Make sure the features match the 'posts_per_page' => 5, and the Reading Settings match also or you will have grid features.
Another solution is to add some code in your child themes functions.php file to control the home features without effecting your archive listings which are controlled by the Reading Settings in WordPress.
This way you can set the reading settings to a number above 5 and your home page still only displays 5 full content width featured posts and No grid.

August 15, 2013 at 5:11 pm #56701fatgMemberHi Brad,
Thanks very much for the quick reply. I like your initial approach as I am comfortable editing that section of home.php.
I had previously changed the number of features from 3 to 5 so that the home page (1) only shows full-size posts. When I made the changes you suggested, the images on the home page (1) became larger - which was interesting, but not my goal. I just want all of the additional pages 2, 3 etc. to look like the home page with 5 feature size posts and eliminate 2-columns of "teasers". I would use the character limit per your suggestion or the "more" tag in the post itself.
If I could eliminate teasers for category archives etc. that would be a bonus.
thanks again.

You could also remove the grid from the home.php file and the CSS for it as well.

Appreciate the follow-up. I keep thinking this should be as simple as changing a couple of settings, but none seem to have any effect. I'm looking for a less invasive approach than removing the grid (if possible).August 16, 2013 at 11:21 am #56841fatgMemberRemoving the grid by "commenting it out" (//) did the job.
