I have created a theme style (also name theme mask) for the Lifestyle theme. You can view it at http://www.thememask.net/lifestyle/wordpress/?mask=sp-lifestyle-nature&style=default
Theme mask uses advanced css and jquery technique to overlay beautiful graphic without touching a single line of code of the original Lifestyle theme. Even if you have made modification to the Lifestyle theme, the mask will still work as long as you don't change the elements in the header, footer and background.
Anyone interested in getting more info and download the mask design for free, please go to http://www.thememask.com/studiopress-lifestyle-theme-mask/
Any feedback on this concept is very much appreciated.
I went there last night when I saw someone from Studiopress share it on Twitter. That's a great plugin. Can we use any background image or are these more like Skins that we would have to purchase separately?
ThemeMask Manager plugin serves as a "communication" tool between the original theme and the files that contain the various pre-designed skins (or masks). By using the plugin, you can turn on/off any mask. The activated mask will be visible on the website.
That means you can create several masks with different background image. Then use the plugin to activate the one that you want to display on the website.
To better understand how this works, you can see the demo that uses the plugin to control each mask at http://thememask.net/lifestyle/?theme=1&mask=0
Now, the Nature mask in the demo is free for the Lifestyle theme users. The rest of the masks are chargeable.
