Hi, I am looking to create a website similar in format to http://www.artistswa.com/ with a gallery on the top of the home page and a 5 row table of portfolio images underneath. Which Studiopress template would be best for this type of website? I am concerned that all temlates seem to have 3 intead of 5 rows displayed. Is this possible to change? The only suitable templates I have found are: http://demo.zigzagpress.com/megalithe/ and http://demo.zigzagpress.com/megalithe/ but I would rather use a studiopress one as I am a paid member. Does anyone have any suggestions please? 🙂

1. You can use the native WordPress gallery with a custom links plugin and insert 5 columns for your gallery then link each thumbnail to a custom url.
2. You could use one of the child themes above and modify the code to display 5 columns
3. You could use a StudioPress child theme and modify the code to display more widgets by adding them to an existing home template then modifying the CSS
4. You could use columns classes for 5 columns
5. You could use a custom grid as well.
Clearly, the first solution is by far the easiest.

August 9, 2013 at 12:22 pm #55289einsteinMemberHi Brad, I gave Megalithe template a go, but I am finding that there is not enough documentation to help me customise it. I am thinking of reverting to studiopress template as support is much better. I had a look at this plug inhttp://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-gallery-custom-links/screenshots/, is this the one you ment? It liiks good, but I would like to have a feature which animates the images/posts accordingto categories, just like in megalithe template, do you know of any plugins that do this? I am trying to minimise the amount of coding I have to do to achieve this. Thanks for your help! 🙂
August 9, 2013 at 12:34 pm #55294einsteinMemberHi Brad, just found a similar code which is called Isotope. but I would like to have a reputable plug in which utilises a similar code, so I don;t have to worry about future compatibility issues...

As far as the effects are concerned, you might need to add them manually as i don't know if a plugin will do that for you.
Here's 6 different effects http://demo.hongkiat.com/css3-image-captions/index.html
