I have the Prose theme which I really like, but my home page right now just shows my blog posts. I would like it to look more like a hub of all that will be on the sight and not just show the blogs.
Is there any kind of template for this? Do I need a different theme or what?

Thanks for any helpful ideas you have.November 21, 2013 at 4:16 pm #74794RobGMemberNot really sure what you mean by hub.

For example: blog, for beginners, store, resources, etc. I don't have all those pieces in place yet, but want something more than just tabs in the menu bar.

Also, there is a plugin, Genesis Pro Extras, designed for the Prose Theme that has a Widgetized Home Page:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-prose-extras/When I want to change themes such as from Prose to Metro Pro I do "not" change themes in WordPress (WP) Admin. Instead, I create a new directory and install WP & the new theme. In that way the settings for the themes do not bleed from one theme to the other.
When I wan to install a theme to experiment with such as the Prose Theme and use a plugin such as the Genesis Pro Extras I create a new directory and install WP & the new theme. After the installation I install the minimal plugins required by he theme and only a plugin that I want to use such as the Genesis Pro Extras. In that way I can determine if there are any conflicts with theme and plugins.
Just as a note, I really prefer the Metro Pro Theme when the home page is designed for a hub. The Widgetized Home Page functionality is already coded into the theme, so a plugin such as the Genesis Pro Extras is not required, and plugins do add unnecessary load/bloat to a WP site.
If you do use the Metro Pro Theme be sure to see the tutorial for the theme in your member area. By default the home page will show the most recent posts. However, if you want to show specific posts and alternative images you it can be done. You just have to be a little creative such as adding images to the post and adding a featured image or just add a different image directly under the widgetetized post. Lots of options 🙂
Jeffery 100% 🙂
