I have a main site : www. bloomsmagazine.com and am wondering if it is advisable to create a blog as http://www.bloomsmagazine.com/blog
1. Is that the best solution to have a blog along with a main site?
2. Can the blog slow down the performance or loading time of the main site? or could there be any form of other conflict?
Thanks.

December 18, 2012 at 3:41 pm #6004Since your main site is already powered by WordPress and Genesis, I would just create a page named Blog and then select the Blog template before clicking Publish. There’s really no reason to install your blog on a subdomain.

But, what you suggested will just give me a blog page.
What I need is a full blog where bloggers would be able to log in and post and probably have different categories.
And I don’t want them to do that on my main site.
December 18, 2012 at 3:49 pm #6010I agree with Susan. It won’t slow down your site at all.

But, could there be any impact on the search engine?
Thanks.
December 18, 2012 at 5:42 pm #6049No, there should be no impact on search results.

Community Theme Developer: Pure EleganceDecember 22, 2012 at 5:17 pm #7057Ok, thanks. I have now installed a new wordpress at the directory.
How can I achieve this:
On the admin area, I want each blogger to be able to log in separately in order to be able to post and for these posts to be filed so that a reader who visit the site would be able to see each blogger and their corresponding post filed under name of each of these bloggers.
December 23, 2012 at 5:57 pm #7232You can just add each blogger as a new user and set them up as an editor. Then you can create a page that lists your authors with a link to their posts or do something like this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Author_Templates
