Hi…  Not sure what I am doing wrong.  This site actually has 2 categories.  One for podcasts on the front page at http://www.lorasomoza.com and one for the blog page.  I have “Include The Featured image?” in the genesis settings unchecked, yet whenever an image is added to one of these posts, it shows above the post like a featured image.  I’d like no images to show.  How can I make that happen?

Thanks!

If I understand you right, you’d like an image to show with the post but not on the category page?

Then I don’t think I’d bother with the setting a featured image. Just insert the image into the post. Then your category pages won’t have a featured image to decide to show or not.

Be it ever so run down, there’s no place like FriendFeed. ;-)

No, I don’t want any featured image at all.  I haven’t set one.  When I add an image anywhere in a blog post, it shows up above the post and inside the post, as you can see at that link above.

You need to remove this code from your child themes functions.php file:
/** Add post image above post title */
add_action( ‘genesis_before_post’, ‘streamline_post_image’ );
function streamline_post_image() {

if ( is_page() ) return;

if ( $image = genesis_get_image( ‘format=url&size=post-image’ ) ) {
printf( ‘<a href="%s" rel="bookmark"><img class="post-photo" src="%s" alt="%s" /></a>’, get_permalink(), $image, the_title_attribute( ‘echo=0′ ) );
}
