    My header moved out of alignment after upgrading to Genesis 2.1
    How do I re-center it so I don’t get the grey bar on the right?

    Here’s the current code:

    #header {
    background: #090909 url(images/header.png) center repeat-y;
    background-color: #1a212b!important;
    background-position: center center!important;
    margin: 0 auto;
    min-height: 120px;
    overflow: hidden;
    width: 100%;
    }

    Thank you

    It really depends on what has caused it.

    Here’s a post about how to fix the header problems in Outreach http://wpsites.net/wordpress-themes/how-to-fix-outreach-theme-header-problem-add-different-sized-images/

    Thanks Brad..I tried following your tutorial…I no longer get the grey but can’t get my header image to display after following..

    But what about changing the header image to another? You can do this simply by removing the default header.png file in your child themes image folder and replacing it with another exactly the same size. Make sure you use the same file name and file extension.

    My current header css is:

    #header {
    background: #090909 url(images/header.png) center repeat-x;
    margin: 0 auto;
    min-height: 120px;
    overflow: hidden;
    width: 100%;
    }

    My header image is:

    Thanks

    What happens if your change the value for the width in this code in your child themes functions.php file?

    /** Add support for custom header */
    add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array(
    	'width' 	=> 	1200,
    	'height' 	=> 	120
    ) );

    The header is back after adding

    /** Add support for custom header */
    add_theme_support( ‘genesis-custom-header’, array(
    ‘width’ => 1060,
    ‘height’ => 120
    ) );

    However the grey block as reappeared.
