I’m working with the Luscious theme and want my header to be taller. I’ve changed the space via CSS, but when I upload the header image there is just a blank space at the bottom.
I’ve also tried to add a header image to the css, but it doesn’t show up.http://demo.onefunmom.com/ofmtest/May 30, 2013 at 6:36 pm #43278
Change the height value in your child themes functions.php file as well.
/** Add support for custom header */ add_theme_support( ‘genesis-custom-header’, array( ‘width’ => 960, ‘height’ => 115 ) );

Brad, do I add that to the bottom of the .php file? or somewhere specific?July 25, 2013 at 6:59 pm #52540
At the end of your child themes functions.php file using a text editor like Notepad++.

Interesting, I always just change it in the functions.php file where the stock Header values are, I just change them to what I need, I have never added in additional code like above. What is the difference and or benefits to either method?
Now that being said… I cannot remember for the life of me how to upload the new larger header!!! I changed the dimensions in the functions.php file, which increased the header size.
Does anyone know where I add in the Custom Header at via FTP? The problem is you cannot upload it in the theme because it makes you crop it!
Here is the site: http://www.roofingtheflathead.com/ Executive them. I appreciate any help!July 27, 2013 at 8:49 pm #52903
I moved over to Prose and am still having issues changing the header size. I used a tutorial from Carrie Dils http://www.carriedils.com/customize-genesis-move-header/ but can’t figure out where to change the measurements of the header. I change them in the CSS Editor and nothing happens. Prose still crops the header and now it’s off to the left.
When I put in the code you have here, Brad, the whole site goes down. So I guess that code doesn’t work in Prose? Or I’m doing something terribly wrong!July 27, 2013 at 9:09 pm #52906
Ok, using firebug I see this:
url(“http://demo.onefunmom.com/ofmtest/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/cropped-header5.png”) no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent
And when I removed the “no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent” section of the code it worked fine.July 27, 2013 at 9:26 pm #52909
When I do it via firebug it then repeats across the page, but does fill the page.
I want one image (1350px wide) to go all the way across the top. I uploaded an image that size, but Prose automatically crops it to 940. I don’t see where to change it in the actual CSS Stylesheet. There doesn’t seem to be a width option. If I put the width to 100% it doesn’t work, and if I set it to 1350px it doesn’t work.
