I have the Genesis slider widget on my AgentPress theme. In settings it allows me to edit location and also width....but not height...? It's too big & clunky looking....where would I find the code to fix this? Thanks!

The Genesis Slider has settings for both width and height. you can find them in your dashboard at:
Genesis > Slider settings > Display Settings.
Slider Width (in pixels): (590px default) your setting: 530px
Slider Height (in pixels): (300px default) your setting: 340pxIf you change these settings, you will need to resize your images. You can do this with the plugin "Regenerate Thumbnails" from the WordPress plugin repository. You may also need to change some CSS styling in style.css.

You can change the width but not the height. As is, to me it just takes up too much vertical space. I read somewhere that the height is dynamic but I would still like to adjust it - and maybe play with the transparency % a bit....just can't find where the code would be...?
Thanks, Jeannie Veegh

.slide-excerpt { background-color: #fff; filter: alpha(opacity=80); display: block; margin: 10px; opacity: 0.8; padding: 0; position: absolute; width: 515px; height: 35px; z-index: 8; } html > body .slide-excerpt-border { background: none; border: 0px solid #ddd; display: inline; float: left; margin: 3px 5px 0px; padding: 0px 15px 10px; position: relative; z-index: 8; } .slide-excerpt-border a { color: #273549; } .property-quick-search { min-height: 325px }
You might also consider the adjusting the overall slider width to make the left border line up better with the other components on the page, like the featured images (leftmost) and recent articles - something in the area of 630 to 640px. This will require some tweaking of the above changes and to your photos (resizing), but will bode well in the long run. The 'real estate trends' and video sections are also wrong sized, but that could be left for another day.
If you like, have a look at the many real estate themes available for Genesis and plan your next site design moves. 🙂 (real estate theme listings at GenesisThemes.ca)

It actually forced the type down and over to the left. Now couldn't find where to fiddle with that.
Yes, have a lot of tinkering to do and am enjoying learning - but need to think about just using something straight out of the box perhaps.... 🙁
