I want to change the width of the template so that it gets more reading space and also to match the previous theme.

The total width is around 960 pixels currently and I want to change that to 1000 pixel and by increasing the width of the content to 600 pixels from current 560 pixels.

So can you please change the codes for me? I have attached my CSS here.

The blog URL is http://www.yummyoyummy.com/  and the theme is Innov8tive.

    Can anyone help?

There’s more to it than just changing those two areas. Any widget areas need to be reconfigured and your responsive design may not work. This is why I wrote to you and indicated that changing the theme would require customization services.

    Okay, got it.

I think I will hire some WP developer then. Consulting won’t help as I dont want to code myself. And it’s sad that they dont do such simple customizations.. even the not so popular WP theme houses do that…

Well, developers do offer solutions for “simple customizations”… we do it on here all the time. But what you are asking for is NOT a simple customization. You basically need your theme re-configured. For example – you cannot just reconfigure one content part without doing another part – All layouts, i.e., content-sidebar, sidebar-content, content-sidebar-sidebar, sidebar-sidebar-content, etc., will have to be reconfigured – not to mention the Media Queries for responsiveness. So again – this is not a simple customization.

You must be kidding?????   ALL Genesis themes are 960 px?  I just got through spending a bunch of $$$ on Genesis, Genesis Extended, etc. and now you are telling me that all themes are 960 px?

Who said all themes are 960px? I don’t know where you got that from. His particular theme is 960 and he wants to make it wider along with his sidebars.

No it doesn’t. It means start a new thread of your own so I can address YOUR needs separate from the other gentleman’s discussion. If you want to leave and assume no one is trying to help you then so be it.
