Can someone show me where I'm going wrong in editing my stylesheet?
I've put the right color (#5e943f) in the right places for the footer, nav, and widget backgrounds, but it doesn't show up. I cleared my cache and tried a different browser and it still won't show.
http://www.eatyourvalues.comAugust 22, 2014 at 7:24 pm #120574AnitaKeymasterIt's a green color (#5e943f) and that's what I see. Did you resolve this issue on your end?

Those are indeed the changes I wanted. Like a previous change (turning the main nav green), the change didn't show for several hours.
Do you know what might cause such a delay?
August 24, 2014 at 5:04 pm #120826AnitaKeymasterIt could be your host, caching plugins, using CDN, any one or more of those.

August 29, 2014 at 8:30 am #121685SJGMemberIs this a cache problem?
Within the WP editor, the code reads:
.header-image .site-title a {
background-position: center !important;
background-size: contain !important;
float: left;
display: block;
min-height: 200px;
text-indent: -9999px;
width: 100%;When I right-click on the header on the page, the code reads:
.header-image .site-title a {
background-position: center !important;
background-size: contain !important;
float: left;
display: block;
min-height: 90px;
text-indent: -9999px;
width: 100%;August 29, 2014 at 8:37 am #121688AnitaKeymasterLooks like a caching issue. Again.. check with your host. That would be the fastest way to clear this up for you.

September 5, 2014 at 12:10 pm #122958SJGMemberHey there,
The host refreshed the server (but insists that wasn't the problem). At least 2-3 days later, the changes for http://www.eatyourvalues.com have finally appeared across all browsers.
I'm now having similar trouble on another website (http://www.lifeafterteaching.com) with the magazine theme, where I changed the nav and footer background color to that horrid green. It took 2 days to show, I realized I hate it, and it has now been changed back since yesterday morning. However, the changes won't show and have the same problem as EYV: Site Inspector says #Green, WP Editor says #Black.
(In between all of these events, I have disabled all plugins, uninstalled and reinstalled my browsers, and cleared all my browser caches frequently).
Is it possible there's something going on between the theme and the Internet? Once LAT goes back to black, I'm concerned I need to just accept failure and not make updates (since the sites are pretty much fine as they are). If it's obvious that this is a host issue, is there a phrase I could use to more accurately describe the problem to him?
September 5, 2014 at 12:59 pm #122964AnitaKeymasterWho is your host? Do you have any caching plugins installed? Are you using anything any type of plugin with CDN? Also, are you on a home internet system, office internet. When I work out of the hotel sometimes, other people can see my changes but I can't. It's the caching in the internet service provider that's blocking me from seeing it. Also, are you clearing your own personal browser cache/history?

2) No caching plugins that I know of, and all plugins are currently disabled.
3) No CDN I know of.
4) Tried from both home internet and public library internet.
5) To my knowledge, I repeatedly clear my own personal browser cache/historySeptember 5, 2014 at 1:32 pm #122975AnitaKeymasterWhich plan do you have?

September 5, 2014 at 1:44 pm #122980AnitaKeymasterI don't see very many, if any, plugins used on that site. I know it's not the theme. It has to be some caching on the server side, especially if you said it took a few days for the other site. So I pretty much think it's the host.
