I wish to change the colour of the text on the welcome screen (Home Top
http://www.llandudno-short-stories.com
> Text widget) in the Agency pro Child theme.

.home-top .widget-title { color: #fff; font-size: 60px; line-height: 1; }
Change #fff; to your desired color.
November 3, 2015 at 8:14 am #169981sniper666MemberThank you for that, but it doesn't seem to be working. I exchanged the default fff to ff0000 and it stayed the same colour.
🙂
November 3, 2015 at 8:27 am #169982PorterParticipantNext time you make the change, leave the change you make so I can see the CSS on your site to see where it isn't working. The part I posted changes "Welcome", there's an additional spot that changes the text below it:
.home-top .wrap {
color: #ff00ee;
font-family: 'Spinnaker',sans-serif;
padding: 15% 0;
text-align: center;
}I changed the color value, so search for that area with the regular white. Here's a display of it in action:
Make sure you have no cashing enabled, or if in chrome, try an incognito tab, or Shift + F5 to refresh.
November 3, 2015 at 8:33 am #169984sniper666MemberThank you.....looks good but I have just changed the set colour and put in ff0000 and its still white.
I have left the change in this time....sorry about that 🙂
November 3, 2015 at 8:36 am #169985PorterParticipantCan you paste the code you're adding, and tell me where you're adding it? This is a simple change that should take effect immediately, so something is going wrong.
Edit - after doing a hard refresh (shift + F5), your bottom text under "Welcome" is now red, it appears you may have caching or a CDN on that's preventing you from seeing changes.
November 3, 2015 at 8:41 am #169987sniper666MemberHere we are:
Original
.home-top .wrap {
color: #fff;
font-family: 'Spinnaker', sans-serif;
padding: 15% 0;
text-align: center;Edited
.home-top .wrap {
color: #ff0000;
font-family: 'Spinnaker', sans-serif;
padding: 15% 0;
text-align: center;November 3, 2015 at 8:43 am #169988PorterParticipantThe text below "Welcome" is now red, as it should be. you need to change this as well for your "WELCOME" text:
.home-top .widget-title { color: #fff; font-size: 60px; line-height: 1; }
Change that to your red value as well, and then hard refresh your web page (shift + F5 in Chrome) to see the changes. As I said in my edit, you seem to have some cashing going on, but the changes are working, and I can see them.
November 3, 2015 at 8:58 am #169989sniper666MemberThank you. I have tried chrome, Firefox and edge and I am still not seeing 'welcome' in red.
I feel an idiot really, thank you so much for your patience !
November 3, 2015 at 9:00 am #169990PorterParticipantDid you add BOTH pieces of code? You showed me this:
.home-top .wrap { color: #ff0000; font-family: ‘Spinnaker’, sans-serif; padding: 15% 0; text-align: center; }
You also need this:
.home-top .widget-title {
color: #ff0000;
font-size: 60px;
line-height: 1;
}There are two pieces, one for "welcome", one for the text below. Did you change both, and upload the style.css file after making those changes?
November 4, 2015 at 1:03 am #170113sniper666MemberWow! I see it now.......thank you very much for your help and patience 🙂
Much appreciated 🙂
