Does anyone know what is involved with changing out the Genesis Responsive Slider and adding a JQuery Carousel instead on the home page of a child theme? Looking for suggestions on the best JQuery Carousel plugins as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If the plugin has a widget then you just use that instead of the genesis slider. If not you’d need to repalce the sidebar call with your slider code directly

If your want a slider to display in any of the Genesis hook locations, i suggest easing slider. Its easy to add using a shortcode or single line of php.

You can add the code to your template files, Genesis hooks plugin or custom functions.

Here’s a basic tutorial showing you how easy it is to display on the home page using a conditional tag.

One of the best carousel plugins is http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/carousel-without-jetpack/

This plugin is one of the modules included in Jetpack so its made by Automattic without any modifications.
