    Hi, my site is: http://prayersandapples.com/ and I would like to change my tagline to a slightly transparent purple color (similar to: http://www.oliviarosecosmetics.com/ , although I don’t want to change the position of my tagline, as they have done – you’re able to see a little bit of the background below it). All I’m interested in is adjusting the color/transparency of my tagline. I’m also trying to figure out how to adjust the font/text color of the tagline text (right now I just have it blank). Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    Hi there,

    You’ll want to declare the background color twice, once with rgb (for fallback browsers that don’t support rgba), and rgba. Like this:

    .site-tagline {
     background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);
    background-color: rgba(255,255,255,.7);_
    }

    In the above, substitute 255,255,255 for the RGB value of your purple color.

    If you use opacity, it’ll make every element within that inherit the “transparency”, which you don’t want.

    To target the text within, look for .site-description in your CSS. I highly suggest using Firebug or Chrome Developer Tools to help you identify the CSS elements you want. :)

    CHeers,
    Carrie
