    I have a text widget with some hyperlinks in it I would like to change the hyperlink colour to be white

    Using Firebug I have found it is taking the colour from this element

    a, h2 a:hover, .genesis-nav-menu li.right a:hover, .post-info a:hover, .post-meta a:hover, #footer a:hover, #header .genesis-nav-menu li a:hover {
    color: #B280E6;

    I think the specific bit I need to change is a ?

    I tried using this

    div#text-49 {
    background: #C3C3E5;
    color: #ffffff;
    font-weight: bold;

    But as it is a hyperlink it overrides it

    I am sure this is very simple I just need to put the a attribute into the div#text-49 and say colour #ffffff

    Take out div in your existing styling: your attribute is just #text-49.

    Then yes, you’re right, you need to do the a separately. Try:

    #text-49 a {
    color: #fff;

    I do the best I can with what I’ve got. (say hey on twitter)

    Hey Robin, that works a treat, I have even taken out the underline

    I knew it was simple, but I couldn’t figure how to reference just the a element.

    Thanks so much
