Hello StudioPress Community!
I am working on a new site for my architecture firm. I need a professional site with a good portfolio feature (links to a page with info and sliders rather than just an image). I would like to use Genesis but am having a hard time finding a theme that meets my criteria:
- clean very minimal design that can be easily customized (I like eleven40 for this reason)
- full-width
- not parallax
- built-in CPT Portfolio
- responsive
- a StudioPress theme so I don't need to pay twiceI was planning to go with eleven40 but am worried that having to make my own portfolio will require too many plug-ins and/or custom php for it to be easy to update and streamlined.
What StudioPress theme would be best for my needs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

August 28, 2014 at 1:46 pm #121546helpmepleaseMemberThanks Brad,
I looked at some explanations of how to do that but it looked like I will have to alter the code in 3 different PHP files - is that right? I would rather work on the site from the WP dashboard rather than the directory on our server. Additionally I don't have experience with PHP, want to make the site user-friendly if I pass it off to another not-so-tech-savvy person in my company at a later date, and want to be able to easily install updates to the theme without extra steps.
Any other ideas?

If you don't want to do any coding, go for the Executive Pro theme as it already includes a portfolio.
August 28, 2014 at 3:21 pm #121570helpmepleaseMemberI do really like Executive Pro except I really wanted a full-width homepage. Would that be possible with some light coding or a plugin (considering Royal Slider)?
Alternatively, if I do buy Eleven40 would there be a way to get access to the Executive Pro portfolio code without buying the whole theme or the Pro Plus Package?

August 28, 2014 at 11:23 pm #121636TomParticipantIt sounds like you would prefer to have this built into the theme rather than using plugins or coding templates, etc.
There are a number of Genesis themes that will give you full-width options and a built-in portfolio. Perhaps not from StudioPress, but from different theme shops like Appfinte, Themedy, zigzagpress and others.
Since you're going to be spending for Executive or Eleven40, you should also consider other shops, too. (Of course, you don't need to buy the framework again.)
Go here, then filter for Portfolio Template.
If you want a plugin you could consider this: https://cr3ativ.com/cr3ativportfolio/portfolio

Eleven40 doesn't come with a full page home page either. So you will still need to purchase something other than Eleven40.
Modern Portfolio Pro has what you are looking for - http://demo.studiopress.com/modern-portfolio/
YES - clean very minimal design that can be easily customized (I like eleven40 for this reason)
YES - full-width
CORRECT - not parallax
YES - built-in CPT Portfolio
YES - responsive
BUY THIS ONE - a StudioPress theme so I don’t need to pay twice

August 29, 2014 at 10:03 am #121708helpmepleaseMemberThanks for the suggestions! I think I'll go with Portfolio Pro, I had overlooked that one.
August 29, 2014 at 10:15 am #121711TomParticipantIt should be noted that Modern Portfolio does not have a portfolio custom post type. It displays on the front page posts in a grouping called a portfolio using a posts in a category of 'portfolio', but no CPT.
Choose your next site design from over 350 Genesis themes.

Note to StudioPress: Please come up with a better theme option for portfolio sites!
