    Hi

I’m having trouble setting up a login page with a login form.

When setting the custom menu to the wanted page, it shows a blank page, even the code for it is taking from a guide for Genesis on how to build a page template. Then i tried “Peter’s Login Redirect”, it works loggin in and then redirecting to the page that i want, but that’s through the original WP login.

    What i need is this:

I need a booking page for clients to login and schedule via a plugin called Appointments+ (VPMU dev), since there’s a group of people coming from one company, having specific days and time intervals, i’ll create a user login that they all can use to book their appointments through.

I need to have a page in the menu that is called Booking, on that page i need a login form, this needs to work whether i as admin or another contributor is logged in at the same time.

There will be more companies having specific days and intervals, so i need a redirect to a user specific page after login, where they can see only their calendar for booking.

My problem is that i can find a redirect that works, i can find a login form that works, i think it was the Sideways8 login plugin, but i can’t get them to work together, how do i do that in Genesis, i doesn’t need to be with these plugins, i just need the custom login and redirect to work ?

I have the Delicious theme installed, if that means anything.

    All the best
    Carsten

    This plugin may help http://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-my-login/
You may also want to try a membership plugin wpmu has one that may work well for you. http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/membership/

Thanks for your answer Sara :)

Theme My Login, does not redirect upon username or ID, only on roles.

I had a look earlier today on WPMU dev Membership plugin, but thought it was a little overkill for my needs…

It might sound weird, when i say i like to do something a little more simple, cause you can’t argue that much about the simpleness of installing a plugin. One thing is that i need to keep updating the plugin whenever WP updates to be sure it works, if i hardcode it into the child theme, i have no problems on update, only if they remodel wp_login or anything that relies on that :)

So if there’s anyone who knows a guide to how to crack this problem, then feel free to jump in, but remember, it needs to be username or ID specific redirecting, not on roles.

Gravity forms is the best plugin for something like this in my opinion and its not expensive. Around 30 bucks.

Its easy to customize and well supported. There are also many Developers who have lots of experience in creating custom forms with this plugin. It integrates with membership and payment gateways as well.

Plus you’ll enjoy using it and can use it to create other forms.

    Thank you Brad

I’ll have a look at it right away, cause WPMU Membership can’t redirect upon username or ID either…

Well, have had a look at Gravity Forms, and must say that it’s kinda overkill for what i need.

I found this plugin, it cannot redirect upon username or ID, but it is possible to create custom roles, and by doing that, it is possible to make a specific role and put just one user in it(a group of clients who needs to have the same login).

Actually i’m a bit chocked to see that it’s almost impossible to find a plugin that redirects upon username or ID, and also almost impossible to find a guide for using WP functions to code it myself, the craziest thing is that it isn’t even on wordpress.org, even there it is not described how to code it, how to use the functions :-O

I’ve only recently moved over to WordPress for a couple of new website projects. However, using my other web creation software (RapidWeaver for the Mac) I was able to accomplish all you want easily and elegantly using SiteLok:

    http://www.vibralogix.com/sitelokpw/

It works fantastically well, and is very flexible. I create course websites and use it all the time for creating student-only areas, or individual-student-only pages (for feedback).

I’ve received some rather extensive instructions from the creator of this product (which can work with any website) about how to integrate with WordPress. He did not integrate his product with WordPress per se, but the instructions he passed on to me were ones he got from one user who used to use SiteLok with Dreamweaver sites, and later adapted for use with WordPress.

At any rate, take a look at their site. Ask the developer questions if you want. I, or he, can send you the instructions if you want to take the plunge.
