I’d like to create a visible site map – I assume I’d start by using the Archive page template. So far, I’ve copied it from Genesis to my theme folder and edited it so that it only shows pages, not categories or authors, etc. (my site is made up only of pages, no posts). I don’t know PHP well, just enough to tweak things here and there.
Now, I’m wondering if I can make it two columns, showing pages under a parent in one column, and others in the second column, plus not including a page or two (e.g., sandbox).
Here’s what I’ve got so far (all pages showing in both columns)
I’d like Personal Injury to be in the first column, then Family Law and all the rest in the second column. If I were dealing with posts with categories, I’m sure I could figure it out, but since it’s pages, is there a way to do this other than manually including their page IDs? Ideally any future pages added would automatically show up.
You could just use David Decker’s Widgetized Archive Plugin for this – http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-widgetized-archive/screenshots/.
Thank you, I didn’t know about that one. Much appreciated!
