How can I remove "BY AUTHOR" and "LEAVE A COMMENT" on posts in Daily Dish Pro? I'm a beginner to WordPress so I'm not knowledgeable about codes (yet). I tried using the Genesis plug-in Simple Edit, but it only removes the above information on the post page, not on the home page.
Also, is it possible to insert a picture in the top area, i.e. where the name is? I guess this will definitely require some code...?
Thanks!
Mark

If this is what you mean, yes there is some code to edit, but very basic.
If you look in the file called functions.php you will find this code at around line 85
//* Customize the entry meta in the entry header add_filter( 'genesis_post_info', 'daily_dish_single_post_info_filter' ); function daily_dish_single_post_info_filter( $post_info ) { $post_info = '[post_date] [post_author_posts_link] [post_comments] [post_edit]'; return $post_info; }
This is the filter that is controlling what appears in the entry meta underneath the entry title. To remove the by author and leave a comment you just remove them shortcodes. So this is what you need instead..
//* Customize the entry meta in the entry header add_filter( 'genesis_post_info', 'daily_dish_single_post_info_filter' ); function daily_dish_single_post_info_filter( $post_info ) { $post_info = '[post_date] [post_edit]'; return $post_info; }

So make sure you copy and paste everything as it is and not leave any extra characters from what I have said. Making a backup first is a good idea.

March 2, 2015 at 4:32 pm #142938mark.elvevagMemberThanks David! Yes, I've read a bit about "the dangers of code" 🙂 so will make sure I know what I'm doing, if I ever decide to make such changes.
Actually, I just figured out the "remove author and leave comment" issue, and it was a very simple solution which I had completely overlooked. All that had to be done was open up the Genesis Featured Posts in the Widget area, and remove "By [post_author_posts_link] [post_comments]", This means that the author and comment options are still available inside the post, but I don't mind that and either way that can be solved with the earlier mentioned plug-in.
I'm still interested in inserting a picture behind the name of the site though. Any suggestions there are highly appreciated.
Thanks!
