    I am new to WordPress and CSS. I am having trouble with my bullet points showing up correctly on my published pages. No matter what I set as the bullet type in the mce editor, it shows up on the site as a little “>” or not at all.

    I am using the education child theme with genesis

    Here is the css under “ordered/unordered lists”:

    [css]
    .entry-content ol,
    .entry-content ul {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0 0 25px;
    }

    .archive-page ul li,
    .entry-content ul li {
    background: url(images/bullet.png) no-repeat 10px 14px;
    list-style-type: none;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 7px 0 0 30px;
    }

    .entry-content ol li {
    margin: 0 0 0 35px;
    }

    .archive-page ul ul,
    .entry-content ol ol,
    .entry-content ul ul {
    padding: 0;
    }

    [/css]

    What do I need to change to get a disk bullet point as my default?

    In the second block of style you posted, remove the background line, change the list-style-type to disc or square or whatever you want, remove the margin line, and change the padding line to be the margin. (You can test it before you commit by using Firebug in Firefox or Chrome’s Developer Tools.)
