To give you some background:
I am a Beginner Level on pretty much everything having to do with websites & coding; however, I am able to navigate and make simple modifications to the menu's & widgets in WordPress & Genesis. I had my site built by outsourced help using the Associate theme. Unfortunately, I think this was very shortly before the mobile responsive & html5 Studiopress themes became available (I think). Anyway, I'm changing over to one of the newer themes with these features, but I had a few concerns that I'm hoping I might be able to get some help & guidance with. The problem:
Somewhere in my journey (I think I was learning about SEO), I came across the site http://validator.w3.org/. I entered my site http://fitnessranes.com into it and was quite surprised to see that it returned 110 errors and 17 warnings. I checked a few other Studiopress sites to see if this was normal and saw that they returned a much lower number of errors & warnings (< 10 on average). My site obviously has some (major?) problems. I'm wondering how this could be so.The Cause(?):
I thought back to the steps I had taken in building the site. When the site was designed, I recall the designer sending me a mock up of the design he made. I believe this was done in a different program (photoshop, I think?) and I'm not sure how it was converted to work with my Genesis theme.Help please:
Are any of you able to take a look at the code that I currently have and compare it to what the "out of the box" version is supposed to look like?My biggest concern is paying someone to do design work, modifying my site and then running into a similar problem. As I said above though, I'm not sure why I'm getting so many errors!
I have other questions, but I suppose I'll start with this. Any insight you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

I'm going to try the conversion to html5 in the interim; however, I still don't understand why there are so many errors & warnings being returned. I've compared a large number of sites that are using the Genesis platform and none of them have nearly the amount of errors & warnings as my site.
September 5, 2014 at 7:15 pm #123007ChrisRanesMemberJust an update: I did the html5 conversion and I now have only 24 errors and 16 warnings. Much less than I previously had (thank you!!!), but still higher than every other site Genesis I checked.
September 6, 2014 at 8:36 pm #123105AnitaKeymasterPlease only start one discussion for the same issue. I will ask a moderator to close the other one you started. The remaining code you see in the validator - you can fix. You just need to take it line by line. View the Source of your site, i.e., go to your site, right click and View Source or Reveal codes from the list. It will open up the site in HTML mode and will have line number. Find each line item that the validator lists and correct where needed.
