Does any one have a technique or advice on how best to have the background image display on only the home page and a solid background on all other pages/posts?
Thank you in advance for any assist.

I would use Backstretch with the front page conditional tag and change the default CSS for the background.

Thanks Brad! Good approach, and my first thought. Appreciate your confirmation confirming.
I was just hoping that someone might have an edit for the theme’s background functions code, but I need to proceed quickly so I will use the method you mention.
FWIW here is the response from SP support –

The easiest way to do this is simply to take the code from the functions file and paste it into the front page template.
