Tagged: custom post excerpts links html
Is there a “slick” way of displaying links/html in post excerpts like a “Genesis Custom Excerpt” plugin or do you just have redefine the wp_trim_excerpt function to allow it?
Most of the plugins for this haven’t been updated in quite some time so I was wondering if the Genesis community had a better/newer solution?
Otherwise, I’ll just hack it up. =]
Never mind, I just discovered how to do manual excerpts by having “excerpt” checked under screen options – more work but, effective.
You’d think I know to check those screen options by now. =]
If you’re new – whenever you edit a page (or in this case a post) look up top for the screen options tab.
When editing a post clicking this tab will give you a drop down menu with an option to check “excerpt”.
Once checked the scroll down the page and there will be a place to manually create the excerpt for your post and it respects/retains the tag.
