Hi,
I'm looking to learn genesis, I read posts, I've followed Carrie Dills course on Lynda, I 've made simple tweaks with Rob Cubbon course on udemy. I exercise by trying to replicate some elements. But I when I have special needs who can go from simple css to more complex php sometimes I spend too much time looking for what I need and not always succeed in doing it.
Is there in the community someone who specialize in giving courses or one on one sessions but not juts to tweak a theme in particular. Someone I could ask question on each element of the genesis framework?
Where I live there is nothing at all so I only can rely on internet..Thanks!

good to know!
this is my message:Hi Brad,
Sorry the for delay, I didn’t see I had an answer!
I think I’m lost with knowing where to start. And where I have most difficulties seem to be the wrap part. To give you an example. If I wanted to use the Genesis sample and wanted to turn it into daily dish pro theme. I was struggling how to make the menu not go from one side of the screen to the other. I don’t understand how the div work the site container and so on.
I can achieve the result with Dynamik but I want to understand what’s behind. I really like coding but learn it all by myself and it can get a bit messy.
The thing is I don’t want to use anymore premium themes like on theme forest for example. I want to be able to code and do my own websites with genesis. But it’s still confusing.I’m struggling as well with things I’d like to do like on this picture:

I’d like to add a color string at the top of the page or do a split menu (I have read tutorials about this one but still struggle) and add some images on top each element of the menu.
I’m lost in tutorial searching and wish I could ask someone directly on a specific point. I learn really fast when I understand the principle of the thing, not when I have a ready to apply answer.I’ve just discovered yesterday you did a premium support, how does it work? I was mainly thinking about this:
“Support for of all tutorials relating to StudioPress Pro child themes
Support for installation & some modification of all existing and future code snippets
Answers to all your questions relating to existing & future tutorials”Do you answer in person on a dedicated support forum? Does for example my question about going from genesis sample to dish pro layout or customization like on the picture fall into this ?
I really could be interested if that allowed me to learn more.
The other thing is, as I’m in Angola (I’m french though) the time difference with some part of the states doesn’t make thing easy to have a mentor there. And if I could take course in person with a teacher I’d do as well but there is no such thing in Angola, not an academy where I could go and they don’t even know wordpress for most of them…I don’t know what are your thoughts about this?
Let me know if you can figure out something for me, it would be really helpful.Kind regards
Chrys

You should be able to get a lot of help on these forums, if not, then you could look at other options.
Yes i answer all member questions but only relating to existing content otherwise it would need to be a consultation.
October 1, 2014 at 9:45 am #126438ChrysMemberHi Brad,
The problem is most of the time I don't know what to ask. I have example on sites I see or if I ask for something people ask me to see my site live and I train locally...
Or sometimes I don't have the vocabulary like for example the picture I showed you in dropbox on this thread. There are some stripes at the top of the website. I don't know how to call that..I don't know how to ask for something I don't know the name.
So I spend a lot of time searching for full width background with image, create a new div etc. And end up losing time and not knowing how to do it in the end...That's why I was looking for someone I could ask questions to..
Thanks for reading me and answering me

I really like Google Hangouts if you want to speak face to face and ask me lots of questions.
I can also show you my WordPress installation on your screen and show you how to do things if you like.
October 1, 2014 at 9:00 pm #126502TonyaMemberIf I may interject, it sounds like many of your questions are more specifically tied to PHP, HTML, CSS, and/jQuery. Questions about positioning, divs, coloring, and various styles and techniques all begin with a solid understanding of these core areas. Then once you master these, Genesis and WordPress fall right into place and are easy to understand.
There are several online sites that teach you these skills including codeschool.com and Lynda.com.
I hope this helps.
