I am working on a proposal for a client and I can really use some help. :-/ They are asking for a main navigation menu that makes all sub-menus available with hover over one of the menu items.
I'm having a hard time finding a plugin or jquery/css code for this, so I'm trying to figure out where to turn for help - and to determine if I need to hire someone to code it from scratch.
Has anyone worked with a menu like this before and/or know where to get the code for one?
Thanks in advance.
Thank you so much, John! That looks really promising. I'm going to give it a whirl!
I spoke with someone at Ubermenu and they think that it's not the best solution because theirs is a hierarchical menu and there's probably a cleaner way to do it with CSS and JS. I just want to mention it in case anyone has any other ideas! If I get it custom-coded I think I'm looking at about $500 but it seems like something simple enough that there should be a plugin or something already out there. I'm just not sure where to look or what terms to search for at this point.
Bill Erickson has a nice menu - check out his instructions here - http://www.billerickson.net/genesis-subpages-as-secondary-menu/.
Thanks anitac! That's not the functionality that I need, I'm afraid, but it is certainly a nice-looking menu.
Did you find any solution to your inquiry?
I am looking into implementing similar menu functionality. Please share your findings.
No, I didn't find a ready-made solution, I'm afraid. If you end up locating one yourself, it'd be great to hear about it!
You could try the Mega Menu - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jquery-mega-menu/ or UberMenu - http://wpmegamenu.com/.
Here's a blog on WPMU on custom mega menus also - http://wpmu.org/create-highly-customized-and-beautiful-mega-menus-for-wordpress/.
