This is very handy for ALL non coders! No Plug in required!

For the longest time (noncoder) I could not work out how to add an intro to my category pages that appear from the nav bar.
I thought some may welcome an easy solution for all html 5 genesis sites.

When one clicks on the navigation tabs of my categories you now see pictures and a text into- followed by a list of posts.

Notice the Picture and text intro?

    Here’s what to do-

1- Select a category from your nav bar.
    2- Select “Edit Category”
3- Under “Category Archive Settings” you have the – “Archive Headline” where one can write a text intro.
4- “Archive Intro Text” is where you can place a picture that will appear above the intro text.

JUST TYPE THIS CODE AND PLACE THE IMAGE URL FROM YOUR MEDIA LIBRARY LIKE EXAMPLE HERE.
<img src=".... add the url of the image here....." />

ADD THE URL IN BETWEEN THESE <img src=" and the end part here " />

Now you have a photo that appears above your category pages!!

    I hope this is useful,
    Charles

    Okay, I told you I wasn’t a coder!!
I hope this displays properly, as I had some issues to do with putting pics here.

    Hi Chalfant,,

Thank you so much for your post. I used your method. The only thing is, how do you align your photo?

    Best regards, Marjolein

Add <center> </center> around your html for adding the image. (OR whichever alignment you want.)

I am trying this same technique and the image will not display.

I am using the Lifestyle Pro theme. In my category Archive Intro Text, I put:

    <img src="http://www.mommyandlove.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Animal-Lover.png" alt="Mommy & Love's Loving Animals Blog Page | http://www.mommyandlove.com/category/raising-animals/" />

I initially tried shortcodes but neither way worked. Did I do something wrong or does my theme just not support this code? Anyone know? I really want to sharpen up my category pages on my blog with an image.

NEVERMIND. Computer was just slow processing or something. The image appeared after a good 10-15 minutes passed. Great blog tip. Thank you.
