I need to make a few hacks to the Eleven40 theme, hoping there might be some help here. I want to drop the nav bar down below the logo/header. The plan is to have the Logo/Header with a tagline on top left and custom social buttons on top right, nav bar below in white and not black. Does anyone here know how to do that?! I got the logo in the header size is correct, but it's making a mirror of the top underneath. http://diydoyenne.com/ Help is deeply appreciated!
March 3, 2013 at 8:46 am #23891AnitaKeymasterI would turn the "repeat" off of the logo. Did you insert that by using the header function? If so, go over and turn repeat off. I can see the logo repeating below it. The black background is an actual image, so you would need to replace that with an appropriately sized image to allow for both the Logo and the Tagline (height).
You can activate the secondary navigation and move it by the instructions found here - http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/navigation-menus/.
Where I see the word Madge on the top right - you could replace that with the Simple Social Icons - http://www.studiopress.com/plugins/simple-social-icons or you could use the Social Circles - http://www.studiopress.com/plugins/social-circles.

March 3, 2013 at 8:56 am #23893margotMemberThank you! I'm a Blogger person moving to WordPress and I'm stumbling around in the dark. I don't know why my theme is missing the block under the navbar that's in the sample...so that's another conundrum I am trying to solve!
March 3, 2013 at 9:41 am #23898AnitaKeymasterYou mean the block that says, "A mobile-responsive theme..." That's the welcome widget.
For menus/navigation - Go to the Genesis Tab, click Genesis Settings. Scroll down and you will see Primary and Secondary Navigation. You can activate both of them.
Then go to Appearance > Menus. Look in the middle and you will see Primary and Secondary both with drop downs. Create your menus on the right and then tell the Primary and Secondary which menu to use.
Download "Genesis for Beginners" here - http://www.studiopress.com/news/genesis-for-beginners.htm. If you need more help, don't hesitate to ask.

March 3, 2013 at 10:20 am #23902AnitaKeymasterIt's a
widgetwidget area. Go to Appearance > Widgets. Look on the right in the widget area and you should see Welcome - just drag a TEXT WIDGET into that area and add the words/statement you want.

March 3, 2013 at 10:36 am #23905margotMemberI can't seem to find it in my widgets list. Maybe it's hiding! ; )
March 3, 2013 at 10:40 am #23909AnitaKeymasterI'm sorry. I just looked at the theme on my demo server and it's called "Page Title" not Welcome.
