Hi,
I need some help formatting the Home Top Featured Post on the Enterprise Pro Theme.
Here's the link to the draft site I'm working on: http://srinikahealing.com/draft/
The featured post is squashed all the way to the left of the Home Top area when I would like to have it stretched out so that everything sits horizontal and not vertical like it does now. Can you please help me determine what the style code is to make this look more appealing to the eye?
Thanks so much!
Warmly,
http://srinikahealing.com/draft/

You should be able to do this without touching the code.
Check the settings of the featured post/page that is currently in your home-top widget area.
First, check that the "align image left" option is selected.
Then check which image size the featured image is displaying at (you may need to select a larger size).
Cheers,
Tim
February 10, 2015 at 8:47 am #140332alethamcmanamaMemberTim, I did set up the settings in the Featured Post widget for the Home Top Section. I did add a bigger sized featured image, but everything still shows vertical and not horizontal. I've included a screenshot of the Featured Post settings below in case I'm missing something. Let me know.
Here's a link to the home page again so you can see what I'm referring to. I remember when I first installed the theme, the featured image was on the left and the content was on the right. I'm not sure what has happened since then.

Thanks again for your help.

In the bottom left corner of your screen shot there is an "Image alignment" drop down menu. At the moment it appears to be set to "None". See if you can set it to "Left" - I Hope that will work, but let me know if it doesn't 🙂

February 10, 2015 at 2:21 pm #140376alethamcmanamaMemberTim, not that still didn't work. Here's the home page again: http://srinikahealing.com/draft/
All it did was wrap the title around the image. It looked better when the image was set to "none".
Any other ideas?
Thanks!
Aletha

One idea: go back into the settings for the post that you are displaying and check that the featured image is set at the correct size.
February 10, 2015 at 3:48 pm #140387alethamcmanamaMemberHey, Tim. The featured image in the blog post is set to the correct size and it's what I chose on the Featured Post widget which was 750 x 600 pixels. Oh, this is frustrating. I wish I knew what the problem was.
Thanks.
AlethaFebruary 10, 2015 at 4:21 pm #140391Tim SquiresMemberThat's annoying - so sorry that I haven't been able to help 🙁
I have to go out now, but will come back to this later (and I'll keep thinking about it)
Sorry again - I know how frustrating things like this can be.
Talk again soon,
Tim
February 10, 2015 at 6:12 pm #140410Tim SquiresMemberBack again Aletha,
I set up a local test Enterprise Pro install.
When I use my developer tools to inspect the image on my home page, it measures 750x600.
But when I inspect the image on your home page, it measures only 185x273.
This has me puzzled, but makes me think that one more thing to check is the size at which your images are uploaded into your media library.
Check that and meanwhile I'll try to figure out other possibilities. It may also have something to do with the proportions of your image - for example, the demo site image area is wider than it is tall.
Hang in there,
Cheers,
Tim

Sorry that I'm not being much help. I've tried again to check your site with my developer tools, and can't figure out why the image is not displaying at the correct size for you.
I'm sure that when that is fixed the image and text will work in the way that they should, but I'm stuck without a solution.
My only further suggestion would be to submit a support ticket directly to StudioPress Help. As it seems to be a problem within the theme settings somewhere, as distinct from CSS and code modifications, they may be able to help.
I'll keep trying to think of a solution. Please let me know how you get on with things.
Cheers,
Tim

Thank you so much for trying! I did go ahead and submit a support ticket this morning to see if we can get this issue resolved. I'll let you know what they tell me. Stay tuned! 🙂

Well, instead of using a Featured Post widget in the Home Top area of my home page, you use a Featured Page widget instead. I had to work with the featured image and tweak the CSS style code a bit, but you can see how it looks now...so much better!

Again, thank you for your diligent help in this matter. I learned something new this past week!

That's great! I'm glad that you were able to work it out. It does look great on the site. Who would have thought that something so simple could make such a big difference - I wish I had thought of it sooner 🙂
Well done - it's hard working these things through sometimes, but really worth it when you get there!
Cheers,
Tim
