Hello forum folk
Hope this finds you well. I am new to Genesis/StudioPress. I am going to need to use a website for event postings and keeping a calendar. I am curious to learn which calendar and event management tools are being used and are well loved.
I am looking forward to hearing from several of you!
Thank you

There are a whole bunch of these. It's a somewhat big question, because they might range from very simple ones you add events to and stick in a sidebar widget, all the way to behemoths which manage multiple calendars, allow visitor or WP user entries, allow templating, etc. If I wanted something really big, I might go with a paid plugin to get support and such.My tastes generally run to simpler stuff. Here's one that pulls in your Google Calendar (which, as you probably know is free). It's very nice, slightly geekie to set up, but not too bad. The developer is very responsive and friendly. I've used it on a couple recent projects, including one of my own sites:

http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/Here is a big monster, full of features. It's so big that its structure is a little different from most plugins, which put me off a bit. I've used it successfully in the past, but I'm trying to opt for simpler stuff now.

For event management and registration, I'm using Event Espresso Lite for a different client site, and while she's not tech savvy, she's now able to add classes and events herself quite easily.
I also use Time.ly's All In One Event Calendar to display scifi & horror related events, and for some reason I love the posterboard display.

Also saw that a lot of people were complaining about missing admin menus or not being able to get into their websites at all... not sure what that's all about, but as usual, I'm not even thinking about doing a major point upgrade until next weekend at the earliest, after they've had enough time to shake out some of the new bugs 🙂
