Re worked my biz website, grafixCat media using the updated version of the Executive Pro child theme.
I like it pretty well and hope to implement different some things in the coming few weeks. I'm always paying attention to Brad Dalton's blog because he has always got some killer tutorials.

I like the Icons and 3 excerpts, trust, authority, leads.
October 14, 2013 at 8:19 am #66629tejonesMemberThanks Brad! Appreciate it.
The icons are out of the Awesome Fonts More plugin. I guess it is a little bit of the Bootstrap in me. Further, I am thinking about making my own real estate theme. I've been waiting on the new Agent Press theme, but it still hasn't come out. I was hoping it would be out soon.

I think you're right. I need to change the color to a little bit lighter. I appreciate the feedback!

Sort of off topic: Is it possible to have a video up top, where the slider is, in the Executive Theme?
November 3, 2013 at 5:58 pm #70732tejonesMemberThanks for the compliment!
That slider is used via a widget, so yes you could do that. What you would do is get your embed code from Youtube or Vimeo or wherever, and paste it into a text widget and drop the widget into slot for the slider. It should work. I would test in a testing environment. You might want to customize the video embed code to fit the slider area, or modify the CSS to create some styling around the video.
That is the beauty of the home page widget areas that the Genesis Framework child themes have. You can actually use them for something else. Usually the text widget can help with that. That is actually what I am doing with the three below the slider. They were designed originally for Featured Post or Page widgets, but I used html code in the text widget.
fun!

Thanks for the help and tips, I appreciate it.
EDIT:: Forgot to ask, since it's a widget and we can just put html in there, do you know if it's possible to have a video on the left and an opt in box on the right? I guess I can add code to make that area 2 columns??
Basically, I am trying to mimic CopyBlogger.com. Only difference being, where they have bullet points and a sign up button, I want that to be an opt in box on my site.
November 4, 2013 at 6:57 pm #70986tejonesMemberYou could try that. The other option would be to create a second featured widget to place to the right, configure your css to the different sizes. That would be a possibility, but I would give it a try the first way you mentioned. Yes, you would have to use columns in the html.
That is my 2 cents. You might try asking Brad Dalton or Carrie Dils also and get their opinion. They are moderators in the forum and awesome with the Genesis stuff.
However, you have my interest. I might play around with and see if it would work. That would be pretty cool for sure.
I would think though, that would be one way or simply building two widgets that you can make responsive might be the best option. The advantage here would be that you could make those widgets stack when the size of the screen is reduced like Copyblogger's does.
