I'm trying to work out how, with Executive Pro, to have a video, with a call to action box alongside, instead of the slider.
Something like the setup on the site listed in the Studip Press Showcase - Truly Functional Medicine - http://truefunctionalmedicine.com
And of course I'd like it to be responsive.
At this stage I am just using a test site for a mockup, before trying to install the child theme on my main site. The test site is pretty sparse, but I've included the url below.http://getthesocialedge.com
Just published a solution which may help http://wpsites.net/web-design/2-column-widgets-inline-for-slider-genesis-e-mail-subscribe-form/
How does that work differently from the standard setup of responsive slider + call to action widgets in Executive Pro?
My challenge seems to be getting a video to be responsive. Does your solution cover that?
Add the video to a text widget and see what it looks like when you reduce the screen size.
I've done that with the setup Sridhar provided, but it throws the site out. I've left a question for him on this.
Then I used coding from the Neat & Plain site http://neatandplain.com/responsive-youtube-or-vimeo-videos-in-genesis
When I then tested the site with a couple of online testing tools, it came up perfectly, no problem with the video, but on my own Samsung Galaxy phone the responsiveness is not there, not just for the video but for the whole site.
Thinking I might give up on the idea of having a video on the home page. If I can't be confident about responsiveness, it kind of defeats the purpose.
What slider are you using?
I think its a problem with the mobile responsiveness of the slider.
I'm not actually using a slider, Brad. I'm using a customized home-top left + home-top right widget.
The responsiveness on my phone might be just because I have an older phone. I tested it on another Samsung Galaxy, later version and it's fine and had a colleague test it on his iPhone and it was responsive. So I think I might have it solved for now.
Thanks for your help. I'm going to mark this as resolved.
