Hi there, am just finishing my first wordpress Genesis website and loving Studiopress/Genesis.
I have two tiny niggles I am struggling to resolve - I have searched for these, promise!
http://79.170.44.147/anderson-genesis.co.uk/
On the home page movie there is a white line to the left and right of the movie - it sticks out and would love to remove. Because it is a responsive theme it is 100% and so looking at widths doesn't seem to help. Any ideasAlso the footer widget area in dark grey - I would like to change the colour but can't find it in the stylesheet. I found this code:
::-moz-selection {
background-color: #222;
color: #fff;
}::selection {
background-color: #222;
color: #fff;
}but changing the background colour doesn't adjust the footer/widget area.
Finally - on the gallery/portfolio - I would like the title of Gallery to be h1 as per the rest of the site but how do I adjust this when it is coded into the function?
Thank you in advance for reading this and helping if you can.
Kind regards
Natalie

To fix the white lines, remove the "box-shadow: 0 0 0 1px #FFFFFF;" from .site-inner, line around line 453 of your styles.css. If you look closely, it's along the entire inner section, but it looks like just the slider because of the sliders darker contrast.
The background-color for the entire footer widgets is set around line 1692 of your styles.css file. Changing that to your desired color will take care of that if I'm understanding you correctly.
It looks like you've resolved the h1 issue already. If not, please describe more what you need changed ("Gallery" is currently wrapped in h1 tags).
Hope that helps.

April 1, 2014 at 2:30 pm #97955prettypixelperfectMemberTony you are an absolute star! thank you.
On the gallery if you compare it to the other page h1's it is different. If I adjust it to the same as the other h1's it also adjusts the gallery titles below and makes them really large. Ideally I would just like to make the gallery the same h1 as the other pages to save adjusting any css.
Does that make more sense?
thanks again for the other help.

April 1, 2014 at 3:19 pm #97971Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHi Natalie,
I'm glad to be of help!
I got it now. You can add something like this to your functions.php file (child theme):
add_action( 'get_header','abte_modify_gallery_h1' ); function abte_modify_gallery_h1() { if ( is_page( 'portfolio' ) ) { add_filter( 'genesis_attr_entry-title', 'abte_modify_gallery_h1_attributes' ); } } function abte_modify_gallery_h1_attributes( $attributes ) { $attributes['class'] .= ' newclass'; $attributes['itemprop'] = 'headline'; return $attributes; }
The 'portfolio' is the slug (in the url) of the gallery page. Change the class to whatever you want it to be. If you want to replace the class completely, is should be:
$attributes['class'] = 'newclass';as I have it it will add the class to the existing class, so it will be:
class="archive-title newclass"That should do what you want it to do.
Take care,
Tony

April 8, 2014 at 10:26 am #99066prettypixelperfectMemberHi Tony thanks for your help on this. I have been unable to action this until now.
I just had a question - does it matter where in the functions file I place the code?
I am a little unclear on the second point as there is no portfolio page in the pages part of the site as this is a plugin. So I am not sure where I edit the slug class. Still a little new to all of this.
Many thanks again
Natalie
April 8, 2014 at 11:26 am #99077Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHi Natalie,
It doesn't matter where, but I would try to put it next to a similar function just for organization purposes.
If you look at the url for the Gallery page, it's /portfolio/ (not /gallery/), so that's the slug that you would use in the function to target this page only. You could also use the name or id of the page, but it should work as is with 'portfolio'.
If you add it to your functions.php file as is, it should do what you want.
