I would like to add an image to the pages on my site:
I have featured imaged ticked under theme settings-but it is under the posts settings.
I have also uploaded an image to a page in the featured image area and can see it on the backend of wordpress-but not in the live site.
I haven't tried it myself, but perhaps this bit of code will help you:
Be sure to see the comment at the bottom about using it for pages. It has an adjustment to the code for that.
Hope it helps,
Thanks Stefanie, I am not able to edit in the editor? In previous versions of WordPress and woothemes I was able to edit directly into the editor under appearance-I don't seem to be able to do so in Genesis.
I did just upload a plugin-simple hooks- that allow me to add hooks-which is new to me-but am not sure where to add this code.
The editor is not turned off by Genesis, but it may have been turned off some other way for your site.
The simple hooks plugin is great, but not for this purpose. What you need to do is enter the code into your functions.php file, which is something different. The better plugin for this purpose would be something like Code Snippets. This plugin let you add code to your functions.php file easily and each entry is separate and easy to see.
