I am new to Genesis and dint quite realise how deep it goes, but i like the fact it’s a powerful proven system, so i am struggling with hooks and things like that.

i am usng the Generate theme and learning a bit each day but i am strugglng with the folowing.

i want to embed a video in my home page, and have the layout look like this site

I have worked out i need the column shortcodes, sorted out the header responsiveness with another plugin but was thinking of using a slider or this fixed layout with the video and thats really what i need.

Can anybody give me any pointers , i presume i need a hook after navigation or before content or something?

i am used to normal themes with a layout bulder or more control from the theme settings.

Do you have a link to your site please so I can have a look at what’s going on?

Including Video in Sliders isn’t always the easiest thing to do and usually requires a slider that can support the inclusion of video due to complications with the slider annimating when the video is playing.

    Try this

Includes code for creating a widget area before posts

Or you could use this which creates a widget area and extends full width

You can also install the widget logic plugin to display your video on specific pages.

Thx guys, i have made a bit of progress now and i will be using slideck2 as the responsive slider to contain video and i will use that in the generate widget, will update once i get there.
