I would like to add a large photo just above the footer on my homepage only. I attempted several plugins, used shortcodes and Simple Hooks plugin but was unsuccessful.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get a full width photo just above the header area when I have a sidebar as well? So, the full width photo would need to be below the sidebar, above the footer.

Thanks for your suggestions!February 2, 2016 at 12:51 pm #178174tlc72MemberUPDATE:
This is the look I am going for... but this method shows up on every page. I added an image widget to "Before Footer Widget".February 22, 2016 at 7:54 am #179598tlc72MemberSo frustrating that questions go unanswered all the time now. Who remembers the good 'ol days when this was a great support forum??? Never found the answer to my question......

sorry your question did not receive an answer sooner.
I understand your frustration.
A lot of volunteers are doing their best to answer as many posts as they can in their spare time.What might have happened here is that many regular "responders" use a view that only shows unanswered topics.

Posting to a topic removes it from that view and only makes it "discoverable" by going through the sub-forums.To answer your question, there are several ways you could solve this.
Since you brought the before widget area up, I´ll focus on that:If you are utilizing the before widget area for other content besides the image, you could use a plugin like Widget Logic to show the picture only on the front page.
If you'd use the before widget area only for the image, I´d probably delete this
//* Hook before footer widget area below footer widgets add_action( 'genesis_before_footer', 'daily_dish_before_footer_widgets', 5 ); function daily_dish_before_footer_widgets() { genesis_widget_area( 'before-footer-widgets', array( 'before' => '<div class="before-footer-widgets"><div class="wrap">', 'after' => '</div></div>', ) ); }
from the functions.php and add
genesis_widget_area( 'before-footer-widgets', array( 'before' => '<div class="before-footer-widgets"><div class="wrap">', 'after' => '</div></div>', ) );
to the front-page.php inside of function daily_dish_homepage_widgets()
e.g.function daily_dish_homepage_widgets() { genesis_widget_area( 'home-top', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-top widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'before-header', array( 'before' => '<div class="before-header"><div class="wrap">', 'after' => '</div></div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'home-middle', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-middle widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'home-bottom', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-bottom widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'before-footer-widgets', array( 'before' => '<div class="before-footer-widgets"><div class="wrap">', 'after' => '</div></div>', ) ); }
