The amount of storage space offered by a host is different from the memory and 5gb should be plenty unless you are hosting a lot of large videofiles or a lot of different sites.

Whenever one of my sites has issues, the first thing I check is the Apache error log…
I assume you are you using a caching program with that number of visitors?
